I know the saying goes that absence makes the heart grow fonder, but it so many ways this is such a hard quote to like and appreciate!
My hubby works away and is away for two weeks at a time, and it certainly not always smooth sailing when he’s away! I’ve gotten myself to a stage where people assume I’m just breezing through doing everything while he’s away and they ask how come I make it look so easy. Man, if only they knew!!
My two youngest children, adore their Daddy (not to say the older three don’t!) but Harry and AB are Daddy’s boy and girl! But when he left for work on Tuesday, it broke my heart when I picked them up from kindy and the first thing out of their little mouths was ‘where’s Daddy?!’ when I said he’s gone back to work, Harry just burst into tears, not a happy moment for me when I know how much he misses him! So much so that at night he wants to go and sleep in his big brother’s bed to fall asleep! Miss Annabelle refuses to even want to sleep in her bed, so curled up on Daddy’s side of the bed is where she’s currently taken to wanting to sleep.
We just hope the two weeks that he’s away goes quickly!! Thank God for technology and that they can have Skype conversations with Daddy at night time before bed!

Awww…it is hard that he has to go away for more than a few days at a time. Thank goodness for technology I say. That’s like my sister (in Singapore) and I, we now do Facetime because she has an iPhone. FINALLY! It must also be hard for you to be able to do it on your own. xx

I just did a month apart… Ugh, that was hard! And ironically it was ME away with both the kids, AND we were with family back in Australia. Still was very hard emotionally to be a sole parent and apart from my other half! I have totaly sympathy and empathy for you xx
