This would have to be the single most asked question that I get asked on a daily basis!
If I venture out with all five kids, you can guarantee that I will be asked if they are all mine!
Today I went one better, and I took 6 kids (my 5 plus a friend of Dominic’s) to playgroup… all on my own…. and we survived!!!
Annabelle loves playing with the playdoh and it was her favourite colour today!
Harry just wasnt into it today, it looks like his molars are coming through
They lap up playdoh at playgroup cause I dont have it at home! Well I do… but I dont let them play with it!!
Playgroup is normally on Thursdays from 9:30am, which is when Dominic is at school so considering he’s still on holidays he loved being able to come along this week!
Teething sucks! But Mummy cuddles are the best!
If you live on the Sunshine Coast and your a Mum to young children, and your free on Thursday mornings from 9:30am, you should definatly come along to playgroup! Its held at Hope Church at Kawana, and for a $5 donation per family (no matter how many children!) they provide morning tea for both the kids and adults and bottomless cups of coffee for Mum!
Do you go to playgroup/ mothers group?

People are SO rude! I hope when they say something stupid like that you tell them scathingly and wittily to mind their manners… Ggaahh! Makes me so annoyed that people so freely say ridiculous things.
We don’t go to playgroup/mothers group any more – all the kids go to different kinders and some of the mums work. There wasn’t a single time that everyone could make it. Now we’re restricted to school holidays and dinners. I love my mothers group and would be lost without them.

Ooh Kate some of the things I really want to say are not suitable for my blog!! I’ve said a few times “no they are the milkmans” (hubby was doing a milk run at the time I had the twins!) or do they look like mine.
Or sometimes I smile, say yep and I’m swearing off in my head!

Some people are particularly awesome aren’t they? Lol about the playdoh, same story in our house!

Ooh yeah, people are awesome! So awesome, I wish they would keep it bottled up at home somedays! LOL
I cant stand when the kids mix the colours with the playdoh and it turns into that horrible brown colour and I have to throw it out!

I grew up in a household of 9 kids and not only did my parents constantly get that question, but also:
– Didn’t you have a tv? (actually we didn’t lol)
– You must be Catholic (yes)
– How do you manage? (quite well, thank you)
I loved growing up in a large family and my sister is my best friend to this day!

OMG yes! We get that one about the TV too! We have a big TV and still had 5 kids!
My other favourite one we get asked is… “Are they all from the same father”… that one left me speechless!
July 13, 2012 at 8:55 am
I am sure people only ask because they are so jealous of the way you are able to manage five so beautifully
So be proud of yourself.

People are certainly amazed when I can keep 5 children behaved at the shops! It’s not like I’m going to let them go feral people!!
Thankyou for your lovely comment, they are beautiful little souls we are certainly proud of them!

My favourite is the ‘you must be busy!’ line.
No, I just sit around and knit.
What is with people?
July 13, 2012 at 3:18 pm
Ooh how I wish to not be busy!!! Just one coffee a day hot and I would be happy!!

I have to admit I have a few foot-in-mouth moments, but thankfully never one quite as rude as some of the comments above! I am in awe of people with more than 2 or 3 kids. I struggle sometimes with just my one! So no rude comments here, just a well done!

People just blurt things out, don’t they ???!!!

When people say, “Double Trouble”, I slap them down with a “Twice as nice…”
It usually shuts people up. Usually.
You have a gorgeous family!
Your local playgroup looks like a lot of fun

I love it when people say ” you’ve got your hands full” my reply is “actually they are empty!”

Oh how lovely!!
YES they are all yours (aside the ones that arent!) and they are GORGEOUS!

It’s amazing what people feel comfortable asking isn’t it?! I have two young children 19 months apart and because we had them close together lots of people asked in my youngest was an accident! Rude and nosey.
It looks like a lovely playgroup!

We had that happen when we had AB (baby 4) especially since she was born so close after having our twins! People assumed she was a accident cause the twins were only a year old when she was born!
July 13, 2012 at 9:09 pm
I can’t believe people can be so rude! I only have three children, but I get questions, too. I don’t know why it should seems strange to have 3, 4, 5 children or why people feel the need to comment.
